I have a linksys router and I want to configure it so others do not access banned sites. I know I can set a password, but I still want to restrict their access.

If you want to prevent people who are not supposed to be gaining access to your net service then you will have to set up a password to your router. And then tell your friends the password.
If still have the problem then one of your friends is the culprit when it comes to accessing the banned sites.
