Proxies were created by the humans who left into space until the earth was restored and habitable. they were tasked with keeping the human race going on earth. So the proxies each built a dome and produced humans through artificial wombs. the proxies have god-like abilities but r not gods. they can withstand earths poluted atmosphere, bullets, pretty much anything except sunlight. they were designed to die out once the sun comes out and earth is restored. i think lol

If you think about it, this is why some of the proxies destroyed the human population in their domes as a form of rebellion against their purpose because they realize that they are fated to die when the Earth is finally restored. They hoped to prolong their existence. Just as the autoreivs gain free will, so too do the proxies.
